Independent guide to OOTDBUY

The OOTDBuy Spreadsheet gives you a link. This explains everything after it.

This guide walks a first-time buyer from a product card on a spreadsheet site through the OOTDBUY order form, the warehouse, and the parcel that turns up at your door. Written from OOTDBUY official notices, with the source named every time a number appears.

Searches W2CSpreadsheet, where the finds live. Browsing costs nothing and needs no account. Bring the link back here when you want to know what happens after you copy it.

What people mean by an OOTDBuy Spreadsheet

It is a shopping catalogue, not a document. A spreadsheet site such as W2CSpreadsheet lays out product cards by category. Each card carries a photo, a name, the marketplace the item sits on, and one link. Nothing on that page sells you anything. The link is the entire point of it.

The name stuck from the early community habit of swapping finds in shared files. What people actually use now is a browsable wall of cards, kept by people who shop these marketplaces themselves. You pick something, copy the link, and hand it to OOTDBUY, which does the buying inside China on your behalf.

The part that surprises people

You do not pay once. You pay three times.

The OOTDBUY checkout you meet first only covers the goods and the seller's shipping inside China. The confirm-order screen says so in small grey text next to the total: international shipping fee not included. The freight is quoted later, once your items are physically in the warehouse and on a scale.

That gap is where first orders go wrong. People budget the item price, watch the parcel sit in the warehouse for a fortnight, and then meet a freight bill they were not expecting. Nothing has gone wrong when that happens. It is simply how a buying agent works.

The moments you pay OOTDBUY: goods and domestic shipping at order, international freight after the parcel is weighed, and possibly duty at your own borderYou pay in more than one momentAt orderGoods and domestic shippingThe checkout total you see firstAfter weighingInternational freightQuoted only once the box is weighedMaybe on arrivalDuty at your own borderCharged by your country, not the agentThe first total is not the final total. From the official Service and Fees notice and the confirm order screen, whichstates that the international shipping fee is not included.

What OOTDBUY is, in one paragraph

OOTDBUY is a buying agent. It does not own the goods and it does not run a shop. You give it a link to something on Taobao, Weidian or 1688; a purchasing agent buys that item on your behalf; the seller ships it to an OOTDBUY warehouse in China; the warehouse opens it, checks it against your order, photographs it, weighs it and stores it. When you are ready, you tell it which items to put in a box and which shipping line to use, and it sends the box to you.

The service is operated by GLOBAL BUYPAL UK TECHNOLOGY LIMITED, registered number 16688410, at an address in Coventry in the United Kingdom. The company says it serves regions in 45 countries and has offices across several continents.

The agent puts its own name at the bottom of every page

Two things here are worth more than any review. The operating company is named in full, which means it can be looked up in a public register. And the accepted payment methods are shown as logos rather than described, which tells you which consumer protections you can fall back on if something goes wrong at the payment step rather than the parcel step.

The whole thing, start to finish

OOTDBUY documents this as a ten step flow. Condensed, it is five things you do and five things the warehouse does.

Two blocks showing 90 free storage days for a normal parcel with an email reminder and 30 days for an abnormal parcel with no reminderTwo clocks run in the warehouseNormal parcel90days, with an email before it endsAbnormal parcel30days, and no reminder at allMiss either one and the goods are treated as abandoned. Both windows and the disposal wording come from the official Storage notice.
The storage window is what lets step four and step five be weeks apart.
  1. Find the item and copy its link

Either from a finds page or by searching a marketplace yourself. OOTDBUY accepts Taobao, Weidian and 1688 links, and can also search those marketplaces from its own search box.

  2. Submit the purchase and pay for the goods

Colour, size and quantity come across from the listing. You pay the item price plus the seller's shipping inside China. This is payment one.

  3. A purchasing agent buys it for you

A person places the order with the seller. If the seller needs something clarified, OOTDBUY contacts you through the order enquiry thread.

  4. The warehouse receives, checks, photographs and stores it

Every box is opened for prohibited items, the contents are checked against your order, then weighed and stored. Storage is free for 90 days.

  5. You submit a parcel and choose a line

Pick which stored items go in the box. Either pay 20 CNY for a rehearsal and see the real freight before committing, or create the waybill directly and settle the difference afterwards. This is payment two.

  6. It ships, clears customs and arrives

Any freight difference, the customs declaration fee and whatever import tax your country charges land at the end. This is payment three.

What you are actually paying for

OOTDBUY states that beyond the goods, international freight and customs clearance, no other fees are charged, and that value added services are optional extras you choose yourself.

When a buying agent is the right tool, and when it is not

Guides that only list advantages are not much use when you are deciding. Here is the honest split.

Worth using an agent for

  • Items that only exist on Chinese marketplaces and never ship abroad directly
  • Several items from different sellers that you want in one box
  • Anything where you want a human to look at the goods and photograph them before they cross a border
  • Sellers who will not accept a foreign card or a foreign address

Buy it locally instead when

  • The same item is stocked in your own country for a similar landed price
  • You need it this week, because agent orders move in weeks, not days
  • It is fragile, since fragile goods take part in loss claims only and never in damage claims
  • It is on the restricted list, such as liquids, powders, cosmetics or anything with a blade
